Bhrigu Lake is located at an elevation of around 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located to the east of the Rohtang Pass and is around 14 kilometres from Gulaba village. The lake can be reached by trek from Gulaba village. The trek involves a moderate climb through green meadows from Gulaba to Rohlikohli campsite via Camp 1. From Rohilikohli it takes another 4 hours to reach Bhrigu. The lake is named after Maharishi Bhrigu, one of the seven great sages (Saptarshis). As per the myth, the rishi meditated here. Even after being at 4,200 meters, the lake never gets completely frozen.
Reporting at Patlikuhal [by 9 AM] and ride to Rumsu base camp. Post lunch acclimatisation walk and Orientation for the trek in the evening. Overnight stay at base camp.
Drive to Gulaba and trek to Camp 1. Overnight stay in tents at Camp 1.
Trek to Rohlikohli. Trek duration: 4 hours.Overnight stay in tents at Rohilkohli campsite.
The trek to Bhrigu starts early in the morning from Rohlikohli with packed lunch. The trek involves a moderate climb till the lake at 4,200 meters. Return via same route Rohlikohli campsite. Overnight at Rohlikohli campsite
